Which is better to breathe through your nose or through your mouth while running?

Let’s take a look at it first ➡️ [The difference between nasal breathing vs mouth breathing]

👄 Mouth-breathing - air goes directly into the respiratory tract

👃🏻Nasal breathing - the air enters the nasal cavity first, and then enters the respiratory tract

👃🏻The nasal cavity can preheat and humidify the inhaled air

The mucus and hair in the nose can “block” the dust in the air and even kill some bacteria.

👄However, the mouth does not have the “special function” of the nose at all, and all kinds of harmful substances can enter. There is also an old saying that “diseases enter through the mouth”

So the conclusion is ➡️ [Breathing with your mouth is bad for your health]

But when running, the oxygen is not enough (such as accelerating)

➡️ [What should I do when I have to use my mouth to assist breathing? ]

1- Don’t worry too much about how comfortable you are, for example: when you are allocated 8-9, you can breathe through your nose; when you are allocated 6-7, your mouth and nose are together; when you are allocated 4-5, you need to breathe deeply together

2- But from a health point of view, breathing through the mouth has to be a little bit particular:

👄Open the mouth slightly, and press the tip of the tongue against the palate, so that air (especially cold air in winter) can be inhaled from both sides of the tip of the tongue to the mouth, so as to have a preheating process for the cold air, avoiding direct inhalation into the trachea, causing discomfort such as coughing.

👄The above methods can also be applied to road sections with poor air quality, and the teeth can also assist in intercepting “harmful substances”

Have you learned it? 🤗🤗🤗
